Aiko

The URBAN NATION Museum is not only hosting the first retrospective on photographer Martha Cooper (one of the most iconic street photographers of all time), but has also teamed up with New York-based Japanese artist Lady Aiko (another street art icon) to create the museum’s brand new facade.

The huge mural is a colourful tribute by Lady Aiko to her old friend and partner in crime, and features some of the photographer’s favourite photos mixed with the artist’s signature style and characters.

Curated by Brooklyn Street Art (Jaime Rojo and Steven P. Harrington) and produced by YAP, the exhibition “Martha Cooper: Taking Pictures” at the URBAN NATION Museum spans six decades of the photographer’s work in images and personal objects.
